Grand Forks Senior Center

The Grand Forks Senior Center (GFSC), located at 620 4th Ave S, is a place where seniors come together for meals, socialization, educational and volunteering opportunities. The current building, built in 1977, is too small for all the Senior Center would like to offer and the small parking lot is inadequate for the population the Senior Center serves.

Because of the growing, aging population in Grand Forks, the Senior Center is positioning itself so it can assist all seniors in remaining healthy and independent in their homes. One thing the Senior Center is considering is a new or additional facility located within the Altru Wellness Village. A new facility would mean a direct connection to the fitness component that is so important for seniors, expanded space for more educational and socialization opportunities, more office space for GFSC nurses and social workers, and intergenerational programs.
